As Utahns we believe that everyone should have access to fairness in the most basic necessities: a roof over our heads and a job to support ourselves and the people we love. 1. Keep it brief
Make your point quickly. Talk about your values, and why because of those values discrimination has no place in our state.

Confrontations rarely gain any ground. You should approach your message with a positive attitude and ask your legislator to support your position.

3.State who you are and what you want upfront.
The first thing you want to say in your letter is that you are their constituent, and identify the issue that you are writing about, and what you want your legislator to do. For example-“I’m writing to ask you to vote in favor of the non-discrimination bill”

Talk about why its important to you. How are you or the people you love affected? Speak about basic values of family, love, opportunity, fairness, and love.
